Book Review of RAWvolution: Gourmet Living Cuisine

I am not a vegan, or even a vegitarian. I bought this book because my mate hates vegetables and I was looking for some simple side dishes I could prepare for myself along with our meals. This book is fabulous. Unlike the other raw food cookbooks I've looked at, this has a sane number of ingredients, most of which can be found in a regular grocery store. There are many recipes which I make over and over again, such as the zucchini hummus, the mashed cauliflower (faux potatoes) with gravy (the gravy recipe is to die for, although I like it better with the onions sauteed first), zucchini "pasta" made with a spirooli slicer, and eggless egg salad. One warning though -- I think that he overseasons a bit, and I normally like heavily seasoned food. Start with a fraction of the amount of salt and spices he recommends, and then season to taste from there. Oh one other warning -- I find raw soup awful, but still, the book is more than worth its cost because there are so many easy, usable recipes. A few require a dehydrator, but with most you can get by with a food processor.
