Louise Dutton, a blonde newsanchor with WCBL-TV is the witness to a fatal shooting and finds her neighbor hacked to death... both on the same day. Staff Inspector Peter Wohl is assigned to make sure the Philadelphia Police Department puts it's best foot forward in regards to Miss Dutton. From that point forward things begin to unravel.

This is Book 1 of W.E.B. Griffin's classic series "Badge Of Honor". Begun in 1988 and delivering book 12 in 2015, Griffin's fast paced writing style and interconnected family and work relationships will easily draw you in and leave you anxious to get to the next book of the series. You might also see this book listed under the pseudonym John Kevin Dugan as Griffin was already busy writing the series' THE CORP and BROTHERHOOD Of WAR at the time this book was originally published.

I read this book sometime in the 1990's and came across it again this week, deciding to read through it again. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the story does not feel dated, (other than the lack of cell phones) and slipping into the story was comfortable and easy.

If you enjoy Griffin's books and writing style, then I recommend you read through this series. You will be glad you did.
