When his boss becomes involved in a messy scandal, Garrett begins to evaluate his political ambitions. He decides to return home to the Silver Spur Ranch, and sees his brother Tate mellowed out from his forthcoming marriage to Libby. Since Libby's sister, Julie, is temporarily staying at the ranch with her son Calvin, Garrett renews his acquaintance with her, too. Then things start to heat up.

Cattle-rustlers are killing and stealing part of their herd. Brother Austin arrives home for a hiatus from his bronco-busting. And Julie's ex-husband decides to make an appearance and get to know his son. All of these things add to the excitement of the book. But then something happens to Garrett's ex-boss, and he's forced to make a decision about his future. The political arena or the ranch?

I enjoyed this book. Especially the interaction between the three brothers. The third book, about Austin, is being released in July, 2010. I'm looking forward to it!
