A disappointing sequel to âthe Stranger Diaries' , the author chooses a female detective to hook onto to create a new series. Think Griffiths would have done better with âthe Diaries' as a standalone and then this novel as another standalone. She wont be able to recreate the success of the Ruth Galloway archeology series with Harbinder Kaur. As a lead character, we just dont care enough about her to look for more adventures in how she cracks cases.

Now, as a copycat for a Christie novel series, I would love to see the armchair detectives from this story continue âdetecting' as a team. I fell in love with this threesome as they helped to solve the suspicious death of their elderly friend, Peggy Smith, known as a âmurder consultant' for authors who needed help thinking up ways to murder characters in their novels. Unfortunately, I think their small town cant have enough of a crime spree to keep them busy as crimefighters.
