For teachers:

In this day of standards driven classrooms, is there room for children to thoughtfully reflect on their values? I think so, and it can be achieved without disrupting the focus on basics. Let's write journal entries on some of these intriquing, engaging questions about things that matter to children (and to us as well).

For parents:

I used these in the car on long drives, and we listened carefully as each member of the family gave an answer (or "passed") to a question. The youngest child read the questions aloud and sometimes we spent some time thinking--except for the questions that set off a flurry of silly, fond, or anxious memories.

There's a lot between the covers because our children have a lot between their ears.
