Why beat around the bush? Book Three sucked. Which is a head scratcher since the first two were so lovely and funny. I found the slow-burn between Lillias and Hugh simply tedious, and I can't stand battle-of-the-wills like these two seemed to love. After stringing me along for most of the book, a sudden about face won't make me feel connected. So yes, I skimmed until, well, just shy of a DNF. 2 stars.
