Why I'm almost sorry I read this book:

1. He doesn't like very many people. Throughout his life so and so was always to blame. If you're interested in old Hollywood juice he does name names. It's shocking how many! I'm a bit surprised he didn't have a small H-wood mob after him after publication!) He REALLY rips Bing Crosby, Wallace Beery, and Alan Alda, among others.

2. Unfortunately he isn't (he's passed away now so WASN'T) a likeable guy. He comes across as a very bitter person.

3. His motives are clouded. He makes many attempts to justify his cheating ways with women (doesn't work) and states many times he's a diehard progressive liberal - but never states why, only that Henry Fonda and John Forsythe told him to be!

4. He only mentions his work in the iconic Superman films in passing (just a few scant lines and NOTHING about the cast, making of, etc.) so if you wanted any dish on that - forget it.

I always thought of Jackie as the cute Our Gang kid. Wow, he sure didn't like that! It makes one wonder why he even wrote this book. If you think of him that way too, you're better off not bothering to read this.
