After reading Dave Pelzer's first book, I had to get the second one. The Lost Boy is an incredible account of Dave's life as a foster child after being rescued by a police officer from his mother's wrath. Dave's life was unpredictable. He jumped from one foster home to another, sometimes without previous notice. All his belongings were almost always packed in a grocery bag.
As soon as he started to feel comfortable in a foster home, he was changed to another.
This is a must read book. It puts into perspective what foster care is all about. It takes away preconceptions that one can have regarding foster parents and their true objective by being so.
I definitely recommend this book. It is rich in detail and the author expresses his feelings in a way that you can almost feel you're going through his suffering. I cannot wait to read the 3rd. installment.
