  I don't want
Your
miserly love
in measured teaspoons,
Little sips,
Tiny swallows,
Crumbs,
starving me
slowly
to death.

Making me
beg
like a
starving mongrel,
for something
that should be
abundant
and
freely given.

Passion
cannot
be rationed.

I want love
like a raging,
flood-swollen
river
overflowing its
banks,
threatening
to sweep me away.

I want you
surging inside me.
Churning like
rapids.
rocking me
like waves
against
the shore,
drenching me,
drowning me,
giving me
all your love
until
there's none left.

Doesn't anybody comment anymore? (Even if you don't like it.)

I really like the the phrase, "passion cannot be rationed". Also enjoyed the first two stanzas very much,-vivid- "little sips, crumbs" and the idea of love measured and doled out in teaspoons. Good work.

I, too, love your strong, "passion cannot be rationed." How do we ever think we can give "only so much," when we know full well that these kinds of emotions, these intense experiences, engulf us whole? This poem carried me right along with its tight rhythm.

This was one of the best poems I have read in a long time. My daughter is going through a divorce, mostly because her husband refuses to put her above ANYTHING in his life = his toys (motocycle, hunting, fishing, etc), work, etc, and these words touched me. Excellent job

This really hit a spark in me - I remember feeling exactly this way. "rocking me like waves against the shore" --- wow!
