They're out there, my dog, his four happy friends,
chasing each other as the day begins.
See how they run, so fast and free,
Joy on four legs endlessly
pelting, fur flying, tail up high,
barking their joy to a cloud-free sky.
What fun it is to see them so:
see them play, run and go
around my back yard, with ebulliency...
it makes for happiness to me.
Keenan runs, he wrestles, leaps,
Kaylee barks, Stella looks, Daisy greets,
Little Gracie runs around the lot--whee!
All five playing, merrily.

It makes my day when I can see
Keenan play so joyously.
Each dog a friend, who loves to romp,
until tongues loll out, and our feet stomp
encouragement to the lively scene.
What a gift this day has been!

My sister and I have a dog, a mix, Keenan. Our neighbor has four dogs, and they often come to play--seeing the five together is a lot of fun, and makes me wish I could run as fast as they can...

This was so reminiscent of my son and his wife's 2 dogs and their pets' romps with the 2 dogs next door. Add her daughter and son swinging by with one dog each and....! Cute story, Tina, and I would love to be able to run with the abandon these animals enjoy, too. :)

I love this! It's very obvious that you find much joy with your dog (dogs?). I, too, find great joy watching my dog have fun. She's almost 12 now so those joyful times don't happen as often. But I treasure the times it does occur. Thanks for sharing your gift with others. Keep writing! Jan B.
