Hi All,

Last year I helped the college my partner and I went to start a Gay-Straight Alliance organization.  The students decided to make it a GSA because LGBTQ does not include 'straight people' and that goes against school policy for student groups (Methodist college).  However, the club was started to recognized the need for a safe-space on campus, promote faculty/staff LGBTQ education, and ensure equal treatment of LGBTQ students.

Anyway, they had a few sucessful bake sales and such and were able to gain the support of the college while attracting about a dozen or so members.  They had a meeting with the college president and convinced her to change the wording of the college bylaws to include no discrimination baised on sexual orientation!  This year, they hope to gain more support with the large incoming freshman class.  Horray! 

Why I've posted a topic here at PBS is to see if anyone has LGBTQ books laying on their shelves they would like to donate or give a 2 for 1 deal (or better).  I have a few credits now and a few more coming to me.  They don't have ANY literature available and the college library is limited.  They are in need of anything ranging from nonfiction social science, same-sex marriage, lgbt
