Why didn't you delete it from your WL when you bought it?  That's the 1st thing I do when I end up buying one of my WL books.  Or at least delete from WL when you posted it for trade. I'm not sure how to stop it besides canceling it and then deleting your WL request.  You might have to accept it then cancel it as the requestor.  That'll put the book on your shelf.  Is there anyone else on the WL? If so then denying the WL offer should put it to the next person.

Oh Ok I didn't see that you didn't notice it on your WL.  That's what happens if you request the only copy and it can't be fulfilled.  I think you'll have to deny the WL request so it either goes on you shelf or it goes to the next person.

In my personal options I have the option turned on to receive notice of  WL books in different bindings.

I have a series of books, of my own, in paperback, that I've decided will be keepers and so I have WL'd the HB copies.  After doing that I decided I could part with all 8 of the PB versions I own since the HB's will be coming some day.  You guessed it, I got 8 notices that a similar copy of my WL books was in the system.   Funny glitch.

From the Help Center about sender not responding/cancellation:

  • If there is not another copy of the book available:
    • the request will be canceled
    • you will get your credit back
    • the book will go onto your Wish List automatically.
    • You will get an email notifying you if this happens.

There is no option to not have it WL'd. I assume this is because if you ordered the book, you wanted the book and therefore the system is giving you its best chance to get a copy.

  Also,

If you Post a Wish Listed book you cannot send, the book will be involved in a pending offer immediately, and you will not be able to delete it from the system or cancel the offer until the Wishing member requests the book. You should:

  • Wait for the book to be requested.
  • Decline the request if you cannot send the book by clicking
    • Doing this will remove the book from your account.
    • You will have a chance to explain what happened to the requestor when you decline the request.
    •

Sorry, trouble editing...

You will have to decline the book from yourself, it will then be removed from your shelf. Then immediately go in and remove it from your WL.

If I'm reading the OP right, she did decline the book from herself but for some reason it's still hanging out in WL hold even though there are no wishers.

This post makes me wonder whether, if this happens again (a fluke causes you to offer a book to yourself), you could simply accept, then indicate that the book has been "sent" and "received."  Just a thought!

Will it let you delete the book from your WL now?  Maybe that's the problem.
