I am so looking forward to seeing "1408" which opens this week. I am really hoping to slip out and watch it over the weekend. It is based on a Stephen King short story by the same name.  A paranormal skeptic who debunks the haunted hotel circuit ends up in a terribly haunted hotel room. It was a great short story, truly frightening, read it if you get a chance, it is in his recent short story collection "Everything's Eventual" and for a REAL treat find  a copy of Blood and Smoke, an audio book of three short stories read by King himself, he does an incredible job. 1408 is in that collection as well and it gave me chills. I love it when he reads his own work, somewhere on youtube or myspace is a video of King reading his story "The Revenge of Lard-Ass Hogan" from his longer novella "The Body" aka 'Stand by Me', truly hilarious stuff.

Yeah I can't wait to watch 1408 either. I am a huge Stephen King fan and have been since I was a teenager. I love it when a new book or movie of his comes out. Thanks for the link too!! :)

Has anyone else seen it yet? Thoughts? I really enjoyed it very much. I didn't think it was scary but it was creepy and honestly the storyline made me cry. I won't say anything that might spoil it for others but I will say if you love Stephen King then I think you will really like this movie. Makes me want to go back and read the short story again to see the similiaraties/differences. :)

I saw this too a few weeks back and was very disappointed in it.  I wasn't scared at all and I actually found it to be a bit boring.  My husband and the couple we were with felt the same way.
