This is a great anthology of poetry. It starts in early English literature and works its way up to modern poets. The back of the book includes a small dictionary of poetic terms like: couplet, syllabic verse, blank verse. This would be a good first anthology for someone who is just getting into poetry and isn't really sure what style or authors they would enjoy reading. It gives you major overview of the poets who are considered to be some of the best.
