I have a great, sneaking admiration for this series of books. The hero, Cabot Cain, 6'7" tall with an impossibly long string of Ph.D's after his name, is completely original and enjoyable. The situations he finds himself in are nerve wrenching. And the perception he brings to the places and situations he finds himself in around the world are really great.
