I'm totally wrong... just don't hit the RL button unless you are sure you don't have the book WL'd!

Well, it's not a glitch, I don't think. Anytime you click on the Reminder List Button, it puts that book on your reminder list, right? I think it's always done that. That's what that button is for. |

Yes, but it's never actually removed it from your WL. It's had it on both lists. |

Ohhhhhhh not for me - it has always removed it. Maybe I'm confused - it happens often. lol When I want to move a book from my wish list to my reminder list - that is the button I always use and it moves the book. |

But see I didn't use the convert button. I just accidently clicked the Reminder button which is above the tag button in the book info. It's not supposed to remove it from your WL. You are only supposed to be able to do that using convert.
These are the only ways that a book is removed from your WL intentionally: It is very easy to delete an item from your Wish List. You should do this whenever you obtain the book elsewhere or decide you no longer wish to request the book when it becomes available. It is important that members keep their Wish Lists "tidy" to avoid declining Wish List offers. To Delete a Book from your Wish List:

I think it's always been this way...I wish it gave some sort of warning like, are you sure you want to move this book from you WL to you RL... OT, but I've also wished that when you looked at book info it said: This book is on your WL...or your RL. I know this wouldn't work unless you have all versions on your list, but I know I've looked at books before and thought it was on my WL when it wasn't... |

I think it's always been that way for me too...you can have it on one or the other, but not on both. Sometimes I move my WL books to my reminder list that way. I wish we got a little pop up window before it switched it though, just in case. |

In the Help info you have posted above: You can also convert Wish List items to Reminder List items from your Wish List.

Thank you Melanie - for some reason I could NOT find this information but I was pretty sure that's how it worked. |

I wrote to ask them about this ages ago and was basically told "too bad." I had clicked the wish button for things that were already on my wishlist and it moved me to the last spot for those things. They did not move me back. |

I've had this happen as well. It seems like it would be a good idea to add an "Are You Sure You Want to ___?" alert when you are removing a Wislisted item in this manner. This would be good because: - I believe you already get an alert when you directly "Delete" a WL item, so it'd be consistent with that behavior. - The use of the "Convert" metaphor already functions as a Remove-From & Add To feature - "Add To Reminder List" does not logically imply "Remove from Something Else" (there are no cues to this behavior other than nasty, first-hand experience, and the two points above actually cue the user to the reverse expectation) This is a flaw that while not exactly critical, really should be fixed. |

Dang it! Apparently this is the first time I've done it because I've never had that happen before. I agree there should be a pop up window that says "This book is on your WL. Are you sure you want to move it to your RL?" But since the system is chaning, I doubt that it'd be worth PBS time to do it. *sigh* You live and you learn I guess. |
