I just accknowleged a book request, which I cannot send out for another 6+ days.   I clicked that I could send book and screen immediately went to screen that I would send it in 2 days.  No way I can do that, or the extra few days that is added on to that time.

I may have to cancel the request.   Any ideas, suggestions?  Couldn't find anything in Help FAQs.

PM the person and tell them that you clicked on the wrong button but will be able to send it, it will just be a bit longer than you said.  If that isn't ok with them you can cancel the order, but PM them first

Doesn't the system only give you 5-6 days to mark the book as mailed? Every time I've had books requested, it said if I didn't mail it by a certain date (I think 5 days later) that I wouldn't get credit for it. So I thought you HAD to mail it by the date it gives you?? There's a book I requested 10 days ago and it's only just been accepted by the person who has the book. So if they're not going to get their credit, then they have no motivation for sending it, and then I don't get a book that looks really interesting and I'm down a credit. :( So I've just been wondering if they'll ever send it, or if the system really allows you to take forever.... :/

Sounds like you clicked the 2-day send button. Which doesn't give you the option of sending on a particular day, only marks that you are sending in two days. The other button gives you the day options.

ETA: If you PM the requestor, and they don't have a problem with the delay, you could have THEM cancel and reorder directly from your shelf, so that it's sure to come back to you, and then be careful which button you accept with, and you should be fine.

Stephanie -- it looks like your book went through more than one person before it was accepted. The system will automatically cancel the request if the sender does not respond within 5 days and move it along to the next person in line offering the book.

Most folks know that there is the chance that a person will take the 5-6 days to mail a book option, so I would just PM the person and let them know.
