I've uploaded the same book image twice for a book that's on my shelf that has no picture - but it's still not showing up, even though it's been at least a week. How long does it normally take to go through the screening process to make sure the image is okay to post? And how will I know if I've done it wrong?

I know they were having a problem with the uploads of the pictures and haven't heard if the problem has been fixed.  That might be why it hasn't shown up yet.

The problem has not been fixed yet, so those of us on the image approval team are unable to get the uploaded images into the database.

This problem has been fixed, but go easy for a couple days until we all get caught up now ;)

You should always get a PM if your image has a problem that keeps it from going up, except of course, when we can't get to them to approve or deny, as in the case of this past week :)

Can't help, I haven't managed to upload any image anywhere yet--it's very frustrating, no avatar, no profile pic, grrr.

Lynn, she was speaking of book covers, you are speaking of for you posts, have you been to the tutorials for these?

They are in the Questions about PBS forum, red topic at top, page 13, 4th post, or here :)

If they don't help you, I'm sure if you PM the gal that wrote them, she would try to give you more explanations or help.

Image queue is cleared, you may increase what you have been uploading by 50% we seem to be keeping up fairly well.

Thanks for going easy on us, we are doing great!

"The queue should be able to handle whatever [you] throw at it. --Robert"

-----

Just a note to those uploading images, someone did find the first batch lost a few, so please, if you uploaded the first night I gave you the go-ahead, and they aren't showing, please try to upload them again. I'll get the other approvers going on this and see if we can keep up with whatever you throw at us!!!

I would also like to take this moment to remind those that are uploading images, to PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE double check them before uploading for

Cropping, scanned or photographed image, that has extra, leftover background around the edges. Crop TO THE BOOK

amazon & ebay emblems, if you can't remove them, find a different image

Copyright Material, This line appears at the top &/or bottom of many images. DON'T submit images with this line!

Large enough to read (shorter than 125px just doesn't get it!) An average largest size to shoot for is 500px tall

Clear, not fuzzy

Straight, if you scan it, make sure you straighten it when you crop it.

Skewed/Cockeyed, if you photograph it, it's probably going to be skewed. If you don't know how to fix that, don't shoot it

No flash glare, here again, this is a photograph that is not good enough to submit.

Notice: it will take us a few days extra to approve everything, So be patient, please :)
