I added books tonight, and two of them are on the wait for Wish Lists. Thing is, I need to delete one of those books. Turns out it belongs to my mom, and she wants it back. LOL Is there any way I can delete this? Do I have to wait for the requestor to either accept or decline and then click that I can't send it? But won't it just go to the next person on the list??

Help a newbie please!

I saw that I can go to my bookshelf and check the box next to a book and delete them that way. These, though, that are on wish list hold, have circles with ! inside them and not a box I can click to delete! ACK!

I think(I could be wrong) but I think you have to wait, reject the order(and say why) and then it will delete the book--as long as you aren't rejecting it for conditions--in which case it will offer it to the next person on the wishlist. Just say, what you said here--that it belongs to your mom and shouldn't have been posted.

Thanks! I'll see what my options are when the order goes through.

You have to wait until someone accepts it and then you have to cancel the request.  If the requester cancels it then they lose their place in line and the book gets passed on to the next person in line.  It has to be you that cancels the book for them to keep their place in line.  PM them and explain the situation.

Okay... but at what point in the transaction can I cancel it? Right now, before the requestor confirms, I don't have that choice. They confirm, and THEN I have the option to cancel? Or do I have to first do something before I can cancel?

Sorry for all the questions... I'm pretty new to this! Thanks!

That's right, DaLynn.  You are in wish list limbo until someone confirms that they want it.  There's nothing you can do until then.  At that point it will ask you if you can mail the book, and you'll say no and offer an explanation and roses.  Well, a nice explanation, anyway :-)

Most of us have done that once or twice.  I lost a book behind my dresser for a couple of months, until we moved the dresser.

Between the time that they accept and you print the wrapper, either of you can cancel.

After you print the wrapper, only you can cancel.

After you mail the book, it is too late to cancel.  :-)

For them to keep their place as top of the WL line they have to accept the book and you have to cancel. When they accept and it asks you when you can mail the book you click "I cannot mail this book". It'll ask for a reason.  You should be able to PM the person who has it on hold and explain to them  that they have to accept but you'll need to cancel. If they deny the request they will lose their place in the WL line.  I had to do this when I accidentally posted a WL book twice.  The book didn't show up anywhere not on my shelf, not on WL hold-no where so I posted it again thinking I did something wrong.  Then it showed up twice on 2 seperate WL. I pm'd the 2nd person and told them what happened.  They accepted and I cancelled.  No big deal.
