However, the Tro... more »picana casino's enjoyable show, "Airplay, a high flyin' variety show", is absolutely free (af), i.e., you don't have to gamble, or buy anything, or otherwise spend money, to see it. This handy, 100 page book details the 'absolutely free', no strings attached, product, service and coupon giveaways of 60+ Vegas casinos. The freebies are detailed in 15 categories: 1) Logo'd 'collectibles': Lots of af 'collectible' type stuff, imprinted with a casino's logo, is available at most casinos - book matches, coffee mugs, cocktail napkins, coin buckets, Mardi Gras beads, pens, photo key chains, playing cards, towelettes, T-shirts, etc. This book tells you who has what, and where in a casino, you can find it. 2) Casino parking: Self- & Valet-parking. This book tells you if a casino has it, where it's af, and where it's not; e.g., Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino: Self-yes, across the road, west of the casino. Show your room key or obtain a ticket and have it validated in the casino. Open 24/7; Valet-yes, at main entrance on east side of the casino. 3) Casino maps: Indispensable for navigating around, and finding your way out of, the major casinos. But the maps are often hard to locate. This book tells you where to locate them in the casinos, and how to use them, e.g., Venetian Resort Hotel & Casino: Available from concierge desk & called 'Resort Guide'. It covers both the Casino & The Grand Canal Shops. North is to the left side of the map. Go west to exit to Las Vegas Strip. 4) Players club/card: Benefits given out upon joining a players club are mostly fsa. This book tells you which casinos give you af benefits upon joining, and what those benefits are; e.g., Aladdin Resort & Casino - Club Aladdin: New members receive an Aladdin souvenir ceramic mug & entry into a daily draw for $1 million. Draws are at 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 & 11 pm. 5) Lounges/bars with live entertainment: Casinos frequently offer a variety of entertainment, day and/or night, in various lounges/bars. Often there is a cover charge or a minimum drink requirement. This book identifies those that are af, i.e., they don't require either; e.g., Monte Carlo Resort & Casino: Pub & Brewery Lounge-bands/DJs perform from 9.30pm2am. Houdini's Lounge-entertainment-ranging from piano players to magicians: Magic, Tue/Wed, 8pm-1am. Live music, Fri-Sat, 7pm-lam. 6) Cocktails, etc: The majority of casinos offer af alcoholic and no -alcoholic drinks to patrons while at any slot/video machine or gaming table. This book tells you which do and which don't; e.g., Slots-A-Fun: Af alcoholic (beer only) & non-alcoholic drinks are offered while gaming. In the mornings coffee & donuts are also offered. 7) Inter-casino shuttles: Almost 50% of the casinos are accessible by af inter-casino shuttles, either bus or monorail service. This book includes details, and a 2-page map of the available routes; e.g., Tropicana Resort & Casino: Other casinos' buses throughout the day & evening drop off & pick up passengers at the Tropicana going from/to Hard Rock Hotel, Palace Station, Sam's Town, Silverton and Sunset Station. Ask at Bell Desks for times. 8) Payroll/government check cashing: Some casinos will cash your paycheck, often with an opportunity for reward. This book tells you which ones will, and what the reward might be; e.g., Plaza Hotel & Casino: Cashing your payroll/government check lets you play the 'Plaza Paycheck Party' slot at the cashier booth for a chance to win at least a bar drink or upwards of a meal, car or cash. 9) Gaming lessons: Offered at various casinos are Baccarat, Blackjack, Craps, Caribbean Stud Poker, Let-it-Ride, Mini-Baccarat, Pai Gow, Poker, Three-Card Poker and Roulette. The lessons are given in the casino's gaming pits, on real tables, by real pit personnel. This book tells you what, when and where; e.g., Imperial Palace Hotel & Casino: Lessons Mon-Fri. (excluding holidays)-Blackjack 9am, Baccarat Warn, Roulette 11am, Craps 11am & 3pm (except Fri). Enquire at casino pit. 10) Discount coupons: Most LV 'discount' coupons are fsa. But some aren't. This book tells you where to get the af ones, e.g., Casino Royale & Hotel: New Players Club members receive 1) a coupon for a frozen strawberry or lime Margarita, or a Michelob beer, and 2) a Fun Book containing a coupon for $50 in free slots play. 11) Special af events & offerings: Sponsored by various casinos at various times - Race & Sports book competitions, Elvis entertainment, impersonation contests, special bingo events, slot/video poker tournaments, talent shows, dance parties, jazz shows, disco parties, mimes & magic shows, circus events, etc. This book tells you what, where and when; e.g., Palace Station Hotel & Casino: Race & Sports Book - pick up a copy of the brochure titled "Station Casinos Free Match Race Challenge." Contests are run every Wed & Fri for an opportunity to win $500 progressive. 12) Other af offerings: Miscellaneous products & services are available in various casinos - Kid's Time babysitting, buffet coupons, slot pulls, show tickets, personal photos, lottery draws, scratch cards, ice-cream & donuts, beer & cocktails, luggage tags, gaming guides, etc. This book tells you what, where and when; e.g., Caesar's Palace Hotel & Casino: Take a pull on the $1 Million Dollar Slot Pull machine (see Caesar's 'Map-guided Scenic Tour' for details). 13) Shopping arcades/Shops: Interesting arcades and shopping areas exist in a number of the casinos and they are, of course, af to browse and window shop. This book tells you where they are and their hours of operation; e.g., Stratosphere Casino Hotel & Tower: Up the escalator there are 50 shops. The Magic Shop will give a free demonstration of the neat tricks they sell, if a small crowd gathers. Also, there's a shop called the Trick Art Museum that has a three-dimensional painting & other stuff out front that is quite amazing. 14) Worth seeing: Many casinos have one or more unique features worth an af look - aquariums, vintage auto collections, adventure domes, gaming museums, memorabilia displays, Egyptian treasures, live Borgs, Ferengis & Klingons, and wildlife habitats of tigers, elephants, sharks, and Amazon parrots, etc. This book tells you what, where and when; e.g., Hilton Las Vegas: The Space Quest Casino - the structure is a science fiction eyeful in itself You might also run into some live Star Trek characters like Borgs, huge Klingons and conniving Ferergi. Self-photo ops with the kids are possible. 15) Map-guided scenic tours: For those visitors interested in seeing the best of the Las Vegas casinos' architectural wonders, their unique, themed settings, their replicas of world famous buildings, monuments, statues and artwork, and some prime examples our world's wildlife, this book has included self-guided tours of the casinos housing those wonders.
