Hoping to have 'an adventure' in her life before her parents chose a husband for her, Isabella Drayton is given a mysterious crystal and charged to return it to its rightful owner, but told she much 'chose between them.' Utterly baffled with no clues as to who the owner is, her return ship home is boarded by pirates and she's turned over to Calum Mackay, the legendary Adventurer, raider of British prison ships. Mackay's goal is to set free as many Jacobite prisoners as possible, while searching for his foster father among them. Recognizing the crystal as his family heirloom, but by legend not allowed to obtain it through force, Mackay needs to find a way to ensure Isabella returns it. Twists and turns leaves the readers in suspense, while Colum becomes a prisoner himself--of the heart.
