I thought you might be interested in the names that the Advocate picked to be voted on. You can pick from 5 to 40, but no more than 40. I took the survey already, I'm proud of myself because I actually knew a lot of the names on the list (besides names like Ellen's & Rosie's :-) ). I know that on the site that I copied the link from there was some grumbling about no Trans persons being represented and I think that they have a right to be upset about that. But there is a place at the very bottom where you can put in a name of someone. I put in Sylvia Rivera http://www.glbtq.com/social-sciences/rivera_s.html So let me know what you think about the list...good, bad, indifferent. Here's the survey: http://www.advocate.com/takeSurvey.asp?surveyID=19 |

Actually there was a trans person on the list. Patrick Califia is trans...he's an author and has a column in Curve magazine I have one of his books listed on my bookshelf. He asked readers if they wanted him to resign as he made his transition since it was a womans magazine...the answer was no. Thanks for sharing this survey. There were so many good names it was hard to limit how many you picked! |
