The book was almost a DNF for me. It tells the story of a family of a Dad and four children and how they learn to live again after the Mother dies. They become a dysfunctional family without the Mother but get it together before the book ends. The oldest daughter, a young teen, and her Dad both grow and learn to do life again.
This is the first time I have read a book by this author.
I could appreciate the author's description of the feelings and details of the difficult moments the family (father and children) had after the untimely death of the mother.
However, I did not feel the book had a lot of substance and felt at times that there was a rambling of different subjects that did not particularly fit with the storyline.
This is one of those books, that several times throughout, I thought about adding it to the short list of my DNF books. I do not think I will read another book by this author.
