I enjoyed both short reads within this book. I needed to read the Gena Showalter short for the Lords of the Underworld series and also continued the book to read Kait Ballenger's short story; Shadow Hunter. I knew I was gonna love The Darkest Angel by Gena Showalter cause I am a fan of her work and of her Lords of the Underworld series, but I was not sure about Kait Ballenger's story for I had never read any of her work. In first reading her work I was quick to realize it was not quite what I was use to reading with Vampire beings being very evil in nature, compared to dangerous but possible ally. I did enjoy the read overall though and found the romance to be quite beautiful and intense.
