Marita Golden's writing is excellent in this novel. She presents a situtation that we often hear about in the news but one that the public never gives much thought. The novel delves into the thinking of a police officer and the persons affected by his actions. This is a quick and enjoyable read. The book does not deal with an easy topic but one that will leave the reader thinking long after its conclusion.
