I am so enjoying this series! I'm well aware that Agatha Raisin is clearly a character that one either loves or hates, but I have found myself in the former group, and am thrilled to have a new series to enjoy! A true British cozy, I enjoyed every word of this book. It is intelligent and fun reading! Not too heavy but certainly not too fluffy. Agatha Raisin is a flawed character, and set in her ways. She is outspoken and yet tenderhearted, still longing for romance in her life. There is a hysterical scene in this one that had me laughing loudly while my husband next to me in bed was trying to sleep. It is worth the price of the book, by far! This second book was far more skillfully edited than the first, and I liked this one even better than the first, The Quiche of Death. I am so happy to have many books ahead of me in this series, as I'm quite fond of the crusty Agatha!

#2 in the series. I love Agatha Raisin. This is a no holds barred woman that says what she thinks and lets the pieces fall where they may. Once again Agatha has found a murder where no one else sees one. She is still after James Lacey and Bill Wong is still a step behind. The new Carsley vet is found dead in a stable, but there seems to be too many women that wanted to see him gone so where do you begin. It is up to Agatha and her cats to save the day. **Amazon Review

I have a almost love/dislike relationship with Agatha Raisin! At times, I read about her and get frustrated but then something happens and she gets back under my skin in a good way.

These are fun easy reads and even though I like the Hammish stories better, this book was a fun read. What a gal is our Agatha!!

I really like this series. Has different characters that seem more "real" and the chemistry works. Highly recommend. These books are like chips, you can't read just one!

Well, I read the whole thing, but I don't think Ms. Raisin is going to be a favorite. I find the character a little too unsympathetic, I guess. But she seems to have many fans, so hopefully someone else will enjoy the book more than I did!

When a philandering, not-so-good-with-animals vet winds up dead in a stable followed by one of his patients, Agatha starts investigating the mysterious deaths.

2nd book in Agatha Raisin series. Recently relocated to the quaint Cotswold village after selling her successful PR firm, Agatha is trying to make friends and fit in. She (and the other ladies in the village) take a shine to the new vet in town, but before that romance can take off, the vet is found dead. Agatha and her handsome bachelor neighbor, James Lacey, take an interest in the circumstances of Dr. Bladen's death. However, as they make inquiries, frightening things begin to happen, including the death of one of the local village women. Have Agatha and James struck a nerve? Agatha's prickly, yet lovable nature is endearing. Another delightful read.

I prefer Beaton's Hamish Macbeth stories to these, but they are still well written and funny if you don't mind that the protagonist is a sort of feisty smart mouthed heroine.

Usual easy to read detective story with the heroine a spunky. husband chasing, upper class "wanna-be", with an interesting personality solving the crimes with a panache not often found in heroines.

Agatha has found yet another man who is interested in her - but wait! When the new vet is killed under mysterious circumstances, she teams up with her neighbor, James Lacey, to investigate the death. When things start hitting a bit close to home, does Agatha back down? Or does she carry on in her own blundering fashion?

Agatha Raisin is a glorious cross between Miss Marple, Auntie Mame, and Lucille Ball with a tad of pit bull tossed in....
