Violet had a recent break-up. She caught her long time BF cheating on her at her 1/2 sister's (Maisey) wedding. She was in love with the idea of getting married and how parts of her wedding planned out. She had been a bridesmaid 7 times and desperately wants it to be her turn. As a result, she allowed herself to ignore red flags and settle for something that didn't fit. She also has ADHD and an unsupportive father (she was the product of an affair). For example, her dad is 20 min late to meet to have coffee and when he does show up and gets their coffee, he has it made with almond milk. Violet is allergic (anaphylaxis- she has to carry an epi-pen). So, issues.
Ford also has issues. His dad hates relationships. Between his father and brothers, they have had multiple divorces/kids with multiple women. His mother left when he was 9. His fam also has a problem with alcohol. He has a core group of friends and they are super supportive. (Addie and Tucker from book 1- they get married in this one, Shep and Lexi (got married in book 1), and Easton).
What I liked is how supportive his friends are. I also liked how accepting they were and Violet fit right in. Overall, this was a fun read about overcoming obstacles, family baggage, and not realizing Violet's ADHD is something that can be cured/changed, but instead learning how to accept and live with it.
Easton's story should be next.
