Robert Mitchum has always been one of my favorite actors, and not just because Mitchum, Lucille Ball, and I were all born on the same day (but not the same year). This book did a fine job of explaining the importance (or not) of the films Robert Mitchum was in over his career. However, there was hardly a scrap of personal info, other than telling us that the reason for Mitchum's sleepy look came naturally because he had trouble sleeping at night.

The reader finds out that Mitchum was married to the same woman for 57 years and had three children. They didn't mention that one of the children was in some of Mitchum's films (particularly THUNDER ROAD) and that Mitchum sang the title song of that same movie. Frankly, I was disappointed.
