This is a posibly collectible copy, good condition, of Lawrence Sanders first novel. The story and pace is great. A classic "caper" story of a recently released convict who plans a apartment building heist. It is written "as if" it is a non-fiction narrative of an event. A stand alone novel not with any of his series characters he developed later in his writing career. Read the novel and then find the 1971 film with Sean Connery for a fun evening.

I REALLY liked this book. I didn't think I would since I'm not really into the genre AND it was written in 1969. But I really liked it. It read as though you were reading through the files of a crime- hearing testimony and transcripts from 'bugs' placed in secret.
Didn't care for the ending (last 3 pages!) but otherwise, loved it. Stayed up extra late just to finish
