Animal Friends - Child's First Library of Learning
Author: Time Life Editorial Staff
This book is an excellent primer on many of the aspects of our animal co-residents of Earth. Written for the young child, (actually for the parent) there are detailed answers too many of the questions children pose. Some examples are: —
  •  Why do dogs sniff all over the place?
  •  Why do dogs wag their tails?
  •  Wh...  more »
  •  Why are rabbit's ears long?
  •  Why are some monkey's bottoms red?
  •  Why do giraffes have long necks?
  •  Why do mice gnaw on hard things?
  •  Why does a camel have a hump?

The illustrations that accompany the text are colorful and detailed, sure to catch the eye of an inquisitive child. For each question, there is a small caption called "To the parent." It contains more detailed information at a level higher than that of the text meant for the child.
