Ann Thwaite (born 1932) is a British writer, best known as a biographer. She is married to the poet, Anthony Thwaite.
Ann Thwaite was born in London, but lived in New Zealand during World War II, returning to the UK to study. She graduated from St Hilda's College, Oxford in 1955. In 1998 she was awarded a D.Litt by Oxford University. She was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature in 1987
