The book only focuses on her engagement and very little of her marriage and divorce, or her life afterwards. Only the last two chapters (as told by Mary and Elizabeth) briefly relate what happened after the marriage. The cover states the BBC television series was based on this series, but the series does just the opposite----it focuses on the divorce discussions, and not overmuch on the marriage. I was hoping this focused on them equally, as well as her life afterward as in My Lady of Cleves by Barnes, but I was disappointed.
