My husband read a book about 15 years ago that was about a Dolphin.  He said it was told in first person from the perspective of the Baby Dolphin, from birth till ?  He said he thought the name of the book was Deep Soundings but any book I have found with that name is not about that.

Any help anyone can give me is appreciated.  I am very new to the Club and I think it is great.

Dana, you may want to try Book Sleuth over at abebooks.com. The people on that forum are really sharp. Here's a link. http://forums.abebooks.com/abesleuthcom

I hope that works - my computer has been hinky lately. Good luck!

Les

It was called Sounding by Hank Searls.

About an aging sperm whale (I was wrong on the animal) separated from his herd.  The one thing he wants to do is communicate with humans to learn why we can be mean and nice at the same time.

A sonar officer on a doomed nuclear sub ends up communicating with the whale.  I think it sounds pretty interesting also.

Him and I don't really read the same kind of stuff, he is into sci-fi and I like mysterys, true crime etc. but I think when this one gets here, and after he reads it I will read it also.

Thanks so much,

Dana S.
