One of the books I've listed is a pop-up, but the book cover image that pops up is clearly for a completely different book!!  (Someone else noticed and noted that in their review of it!).  I tried uploading a more accurate image I found that clearly says Pop-Up right on the cover, but it was not accepted.  I thought maybe the image wasn't clear enough or something, so I tried editing it and reposting...  will it just be rejected again automatically because the book already has an image, or do the image PTB actually look at those kinds of issues??

I can't say whether it will be accepted (I can't see the picture you uploaded), but if the image isn't cropped, it won't be.

What book is it?

(Only jpg files less than 5MB will be accepted)

Make sure it is also in JPG format.  I had uploaded a few that were in bmp, didn't work.

The images are actually looked at if the page says "1 image uploaded" after you upload it. You are supposed to received a PM if it is rejected, and be told why, but that doesn't always happen. How long has it been since you uploaded it? Did you try a 2nd time? If you have tried twice, I'd be happy to look at your image and see if I can see why it isn't uploading. If you send me a PM, I'll be happy to give you my email for images to be sent to, and then I'll let you know if I can tell any reason for it to not be approved.

As for being rejected because there is already an image, no, that's never a reason. As an approver, I cannot see if there is an image already loaded. When an image is uploaded to a specific ISBN, it simply overwrites the image that is there when it is approved. People often upload better images, larger images, or correct ones, as in your case. When the new image is approved, by one of the volunteers, it is then automatically attached to that ISBN, whether there was already one there or not.

From my limited experience of upload images.... I have found that if the books doesn't yet have an image, the images I send are approved like lightening, but the one where I was sending a replacement picture took longer.

Another way to check to see if your "old" image is still pending is to upload it again.  It will tell you that there is still an image pending if your orginal picture is still waiting to be looked at the by the review team.
