Anpoa is in love with the beautiful Ko-Ko-mik-e-is, and has asked her to marry him. But Anpoa is poor, deressed in rags, and the Sun himself has claimed her for his own. The other men laugh at him; no one would dare to oppose the Sun! But Anpao is noble and handsome and despite his poverty, Ko-Ko-mik-e-is agrees to be his wife. First, however, the Sun must agree to give her up. Thus starts an amazing voyage as Anpao searches for the home of the sun. On the way he faces horrible sufferering and battles terrible beast almost more than any human could hope to conquer.
