i'm looking for a book i remember reading when i was a child back in the late 80's-early 90's. i don't remember much about it other than a few things:

1)someone always orders "a BLT, hold the bacon, lettuce, and tomato"

2)it took place in a space ship

3)i think the members of the ship were cadets in an academy and weren't very smart (i think it's mentioned in the title)

4)there was an android

5)there were illustrations

6)i believe it was a series

does this ring a bell for anybody?

Olga,

I love the site the Caroline recommended to you. When you first posted this thread I went there and tried every search that I could think of there with no luck. But the people that read the site are great, so just because no one has ever posted their search for this book there doesn't mean that they can't help you.

The way it works is that you pay the site owner to post your query. It's somewhere in the neighborhood of $2. She posts it to the query page - unless she can identify it herself. She has been a bookseller for a long time.

Then if someone recognizes the story they email her and she posts it to the solved page.

Your choice of subject description is very important, since that is how the queries are sorted. From the info you gave here, I would suggest BLT - hold the bacon, lettuce and tomato. Space Cadets comes to mind too, but I think the first one will catch the attention of anyone just skimming down the page if they have read the story. Be sure you put all the info you put here into the body of the query.

Best wishes!!
