I wish I could have it but I could never get approved with my history of bulimia. *sighs* It's really hard for me to lose weight. My body adjusts to whatever I do and slows my metabolism very quickly. Back in 2007, I had my metabolic rate tested and I was only burning 500 calories a day at 300 pounds. I have been able to increase my metabolism quite a bit since then though by increasing my muscle mass...but it's still hard to lose weight. :(

I had lap band in May of 2006.  Contrary to what most ppl think,  It is NO quick fix.  I still struggle daily w/ my brains addiction to carbs and fast food.

Ps?   What is the test to have your metabolic rate tested?   where do you go to get it done?

Yes i had it done in 2002 and because I could not stay away from the soda's I gained it all back. I have been doing the atkins diet with 20 carbs and I have been doing good. My friend has lost 87 lbs.

I had what is called the mini gastric bypass in March of 2007.  You can see the difference in what I had here  www. clos.net    The day of surgery I weighed 352.5 pounds and wore size 52 pants!! Today, I am a size 10/12 and  go between 140-145. Planning on getting a lower body lift soon to take that down to a size 6/8.

My tummy now holds around 4 oz and 8 ft of my intenstine was bypassed.  My only bad experience is that I became severly anemic and had to have 4 units of blood transfused.  Other than that, no issuea and I am now healthy and living!

I just got back from a week in Hawaii where I snorkled, dove off a cliff into the ocean, hiked for miles up volcanoes and had extra room inthe seat belt on the plane and actually fit in the airplane bathroom!  I know, small things, but huge to me!

I'll answer any and all questions.  Dr. Rutledge is the best!!!

4  months ago I had the Lapland done and so far I have lost down to 5 clothes sizes(size 22) Now I'm in size 14. I'm a short person at 4'11 so weight on me will show real bad. I wish I was tall. ;(  I'm still getting my adjustments done so I'm not where I'm suppose to be yet but I still have hope that it will be where it should be soon.  I don't have any problem of losing weight but I do have problems keeping if off. That's why I decided to have the Lapland done. I know its not a fix all but at lest it gives me a jump start on keeping it off. I would recommend it to anyone who is over weight to get the Lapband if you can. If you have medical problems because of you being over weight your insurance, (if you have good insurance) it will cover it. Mine did. My goal is to get in a size 7 by Christmas. Wish  me luck.....
