I'm looking for a book I read several years ago, about an archaeologist who was looking for the origins of the cultivation of incense such as frankincense and myrrh. It was a true story. I don't remember much except that he was travelling on the old spice road in the Middle East and Asia, and that he found some extremely old incense trees on the side of a mountain near the end of the book.

I found it! It is The Road to Ubar by Nicholas Clapp, and it just went onto my wish list!

I am happy that you found it, Bren.  I hope you get it soon.  Because it is probably an obscure book, why don't you see if you can get it from Amazon or Half.  Amazon was having "free shipping" the last time I looked.  Just a suggestion.

I looked it up on Amazon.com and if you will send me your address, I will get the book for you as a RAOK.
