  An apology, long overdue
To the Man I love and thought I knew
Words indeed cannot express
How things so pure can turn to mess

I remember the night the "light" came on
You were so late arriving home.
I remembered your Gender - SO I said nice and sweet
"Baby there's someone I think you should meet"
"Her name is Andrea; she’s on our front couch-
When ya'll finish chatting, grab your shit and move out!!!"

See that's what I should have done - Got mean and got Mad
Instead I fell to pieces and lost all that we had
The house hurt, my pride did too,
But what hurt most of all was I still wanted you

Do you remember My Children that you left behind?
Can you imagine their tears? Can you hear them crying?
No, Not of your Blood, but Raised by You.
I couldn't do that to ANY child that I knew.

Seems I still have issues - where my kids are concerned
But I'll let them pass - since I'm trying to learn
You missed a lot by walking away
You got a New Family - Is that here to stay???

Ten years have passed and I still Love on
Guess when It's real - it's there til it's gone
But I smile when I think of all that is now
I'll grin and take credit - as I curtsy and bow

Visit the Zoo, see the Great Apes.
Listen for the Music that Denalli will make
There's so much more that you'll never know
You chose another - so reap what you sow.

He never deserved you and you shouldn't be the one apologizing.
