  April Walk

In April on a delightful, warm, sunny day
I went for a walk
Down the block and around the corner
Suddenly waking up to SPRING all around me
The wild and raucous redsorangesyellowsbluesmagentas
And of course green everywhere
Earth is showing us all of her wonders
Making us look at them
But we suffocate her with carbon
As we burn up the dinosaurs
Earth replies with massive wildfires
We don’t stop
Droughts
We don’t stop
1,000-year storms
We don’t stop
Now Earth is attacking our very bodies
Will we stop?
