I liked the fact that there was a lot of plot alongside the romance. I'm not a big fan of romances, really, but this one followed a journalist uncovering a crime in addition to a vicar putting on a historical "mystery play" (the church kind that tells about Biblical events, not the modern meaning of mystery), all set in a rural little town. I thought it was really neat. It'd be a good book for someone who likes both historical and modern fiction, and who isn't looking for a gushy romance...this one was very realistic in terms of whether the relationships develop or not, you're not going to see every single female character swept off her feet by the end of the book.

Didn't care for this one at all. But if you enjoy British style lit, you might enjoy it.

Book was very well written but the ending was quite a shocker. Not used to seeing anything other than happy endings in Christian romances I guess.
