Jaymee Ballard's boyfriend, Nick Samuels, calls to tell her he is working on uncovering a major story and is on his way to see her. But when a storm strikes the area, Nick's car is found abandoned by the side of the road. Local Detective Cage Foster finds a civil war relic hidden away in Nick's car. A search of his emails finds he has been working on a story about counterfeit civil war artifacts. It's up to Jaymee, Cage and Dani to pursue the story and find out who kidnapped Nick and if he is still alive.

This is the third and last book in the Delta Crossroads series. In my opinion, it really doesn't stand on it's own. The author alludes to things that happened in the previous books but really doesn't give us any details. I think I would have been lost if I hadn't read the previous books.

Since the relationships between the characters are already established, this book is more suspense driven than romantic suspense. The mystery grabbed my attention with lots of twists and turns. My rating: 4 Stars.
