The first volume left us at a huge cliffhanger. This volume does get to the fate of Eren...but not until the very end.

The majority of the book is dedicated to Mikasa's backstory which tells us how she and Eren meet. We also follow what is left of Eren's group as they try to regroup and give the rest of the people in the city time to evacuate. Then a crazy Titan appears who is attacking other Titans...this could be a good thing...right?

This was a pretty intense book. There is a ton of action and a lot of violence. The illustration was really well done. The action scenes in this manga series have been exceptional; easy to follow yet still complex.

I love how all these little mysteries surrounding the Titans are unfolding. I also really enjoyed the more in depth look at this world in the detailed diagrams between chapters.

Overall this has been a fantastic manga series and I am really looking forward to seeing what happens next. I wasn't a huge fan of the anime (it just moved too slow) but this manga has been fantastic. I would recommend to fans of action-packed shounen.
