In this 8th outing. Lori and Bill are summoned to Hailesham - Derek Harris' family home for a working weekend / vacation. Lori's knows that this will not be the relaxing vacation she had hoped for when upon their arrival a large topiary is set ablaze and poison pen letters start to appear. More is found out about Derek's family and Nell is still as irrepressible as ever. There was something very familiar about this book. Like I had read part of it before. Very reminiscent of Aunt Dimity Beats the Devil.
Excellent Brittish mystery. Although the main character is American, the book moves smoothly. Good short read.
There's a reading of the will of Earl Estyn, at his lovely estate, and Lori goes along with Bill, the Earl's lawyer. Another fun entry in this series.
Once again Lori is conversing with the ghostly Aunt Dimity and eyeing good-looking gentlemen other than her husband. Here Aunt Dimity and Lori take on a poison pen/arsonist opponent who just about outwits them.
A great fast read. A wonderful addition to the series. Be careful, you may learn something mildly shocking about the heroine if you haven't read all the other books in the series yet!
Can't say enough good things about this series. It is fun and interesting and very entertaining. I wish everyone who likes mysteries could discover them. Keep on writing them, please!
The Aunt Dimity books are such a fun read!
