Loosely following the popular "50-simple-things-you-can-do" format, Silver (A Parent's Guide to Wills and Estates, Adams-Hall, 1992) has written 65 brief chapters on financial planning for the baby boomer generation. Although he focuses on retirement, Silver also discusses other topics important to boomers: paying for a child's college education and planning for an aging parent's financial and medical well-being. He briefly covers a great number of other topics, including social security, annuities, taxes, marriage, trusts, and estates. Unfortunately, he jumps from topic to topic in each chapter, making this a difficult source to use. Also, lay readers may have difficulty understanding the text since it uses few graphs and charts.
