Great horror/supernatural story! This read almost like an "old-fashioned" ghost story rather than a gory modern horror story. The characters are very likeable and the book is a fast read.

The supernatural / haunted house part of the story is entertaining and appropriately spooky, so on that basis, it's recommended for ghost story fans. But I think about 75 to 100 pages could have been cut -- leaving out a lot of the superfluous stuff like the happenings at school and a party. The sneaking around the hero does to avoid letting the adults know what was going on got a little tiresome, although eventually he does let them in on the facts. I thought the title and the cover of the paperback were both ill advised as well.
