This would've been a DNF but I promised the person that gave it to me that I would finish it (It took me over a year) Swedish dad Alex & Jewish mom Suzette and their child Hanna. She's a high IQ brat that refuses to speak and is daddy's girl and wants to get rid of mommy. Suzette has Krohn's disease and is an artist but is afraid of her child. She should be because Hanna is devious and wants to kill mommy to have daddy all to herself and tries numerous ways to do it Too many words and phrases in Swedish that I had to look up and far fetched reaching for story lines (Hanna channels a witch and can speak perfect French and at the end also Swedish & English). Hanna is in and out of schools for "troubled" kids where she inflicts pain on other kids, barks at teachers, & generally causes mayhem so she can be at home with daddy. Just ugh and the ending was thrown together to I guess write a sequel? Not worth the time

This is a book that you are really, really going to love or hate. Many times, I wasn't sure exactly how I felt about it. It still has me second guessing myself.
If you ever read PET SEMATARY, that feeling you had when Gage says "Daddy, play with me," that was the feeling that rolled over me several times when reading this story. It was a book that once started, I read on and off all day, ultimately staying up till 2 AM to finish. So if you want a book that keeps you guessing, is Mom the cause? or is Hanna actually a 7 year old psychopath? than you need to read this.

This book has gotten a lot of rave reviews. I read the whole book, much to my dismay. I didn't like it in the beginning, grew to like it and didn't like the ending. The ending left you hanging, open for a sequel. The girl in this this book, Hannah, is a spoiled rotten evil child. There is nothing to like about her or her parents for that matter. I am sorry that I read the book to the end.

I found this book very hard to put down. A strange tale about parenting and the difficulty we all have in seeing those closest to us clearly. Is this little girl evil? or is her mother kind of a crazy nightmare? A fairly quick read, great for a weekend.

Baby Teeth by Zoje Stage has been compared to two books I really enjoyed reading - Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn and We Need to Talk About Kevin by Lionel Shriver. To me, the comparison does not hold true. This book lacks the intensity or the depth of characters that those books had. Those books left me with a lot to think about; this one just does not. Sadly, I was not the reader for this book.
