The definitive modern work for aspiring blacksmiths. While there are several older books which are on the "must read" list for a new or "wannabe" blacksmith, Ms Sims book is the only modern book to make the cut. She covers the whole range of blacksmithing skills and need-to-know information while avoiding becoming a dry "textbook."
The Backyard Blacksmith reads almost like an extended magazine article in a "how to" publication, complete with excellent photo graphical illustrations. I have found myself standing at my forge with this book propped up in front of me while I work.
