Lansdale is a nutter, and his books are all over the place, but in a good way. This is the second Hap and Leonard book I've read, and I liked in spite of its confusing sense of place in a made up amalgam of not quite east Texas, and its unlikely paired protagonists. Less mystery than pedestrian myth, but a damn good read, and one that makes finding the other Hap and Leonard books that much more important.
Classic Lansdale. Hap Collins and Leonard Pine are at it again, sticking their collective nose in where it doesn't belong to the ulitimate end of murder, mayhem and hilarity.
