Novelization of stories from the series. The best way to describe the show is that it's sort of like an Irish "Northern Exposure": an outsider comes to a town of off-the-wall, zany characters. A classic fish-out-of-water story.

What's interesting is the chemistry between the priest and the barmaid, and the sexual tension between them that can never be realized. I love Assumpta's brash sensibilities which contrast so well with Father's shy demeanor.

If you're a fan, and even if you're not, this is a gentle, nice read.

From the Public Televison Series created by Kieran Pendiville.
Sort of puts you in mind of being in Twilight Zone

I liked this book a lot. It was well-written, amusing and interesting. I can't compare it to the show because I only saw that once, but I would recommend this book.

While I never read the books, The Ballykissangel series is a lot of fun to watch. And the books should be the same.
